Jibril (Gabriel) is one of the four great angels in Islamic belief and the angel of revelation. With six hundred wings large enough to fill the horizon, Jibril is the supreme angel who delivers God’s messages to the prophets.
Jibril brought the first verses of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad, guided him during the Night Journey (Mi’raj), and carried revelation to all prophets. He is one of the most central figures in Islamic cosmology, and also holds an important place in Christian and Jewish traditions as Gabriel.
