Rostam is the greatest hero of Iranian mythology and the central figure of the Shahnameh. A prince of the Sistan region, Rostam was born with superhuman strength — his mother Rudabe required a cesarean delivery because the baby was too large. He became legendary by completing seven great labors (Haft Khan).
Alongside his loyal horse Rakhsh, he slew the White Demon, fought dragons, defeated sorcerers, and protected Iran from countless threats. His most tragic narrative is unknowingly killing his own son Sohrab on the battlefield — one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Iranian literature. Rostam is the supreme symbol of strength, honor, and sacrifice.
